While on a recent trip to India I spent many hours by the ocean and enjoyed playing on the beach.
One afternoon I found a dead sea eel on the sand and saw that all the crabs were gathering around to feast on it.
I sat and watched them until it got dark. Then I went to lay on the beach and gaze at the bats, stars and lightning in the sky.
Have you ever asked yourself the question:
What happens to us when we die?
I thrashed this question to death many years ago. My answer to this is to first ask: How do you define death?
What actually dies?
Don’t we die moment to moment?
Thoughts, they come and go.
Emotions, sensations in the body, come and go.
All the trillions of cells in the body are dying every moment.
The body sitting here reading these words is not the body that came out of your mother’s womb.
What is the constant that dies?
From where I look, the only constant that I have ever found is Awareness, being aware of Itself.
Which brings the question:
Does Awareness die?
This is just another thought like all the others.
Awareness does not care either way.
So once this is seen, which is called “Waking Up” …
We can stop self-obsessing.
Self-obsessing thoughts / patterns / habits will still arise to be seen and that appear to give us conflict.
It is these habits, these patterns, these thoughts that produce a sense of self … a sense of someone being here.
To help ourselves move out of inner conflict utilize the tool of self-observation.
Remember it is not a doing to get somewhere.
We are just observing ourselves.
Everything in Life is a Mirror.
Self-observation will lead to self-acceptance.
From this place is calm ~ we will no longer project onto the “other”.
We will See that Everything that we see, everything that we observe … is what we are.
We see Judgment ~ we are Judgment
We see Hatred ~ we are Hatred
We see Love ~ we are Love
From this place of clarity we will know what action to take if action is required.
And this action (or non-action) will always include the wellbeing of the other.
This is Service to Humanity.
So to say it succinctly:
The World Needs Us To Wake Up.
Stop self-obsessing ~ get clear and be of service to help Humanity.
Because in case we had not noticed…
we are in the shit pan and Humanity needs to WAKE UP…
and Help Itself ~ or else it is Game Over.
It’s Our Choice.
So if you are looking for Heaven …
as my dear friend Isaac Shapiro says;
“This is It.
This moment is as good as it gets.
This moment is as GOD as it gets.
This moment … is all we have.”
We can either be self-obsessed and conflicted inside (which is hell) or we can observe ourselves ~ take FULL Responsibility for it all and come to a place of clarity and calm.
When we practice full self-responsibility we will know how to respond to every situation and we will know how to respect ourselves and “others”.
We will See that this is Heaven on Earth. We will Enjoy and take good care of Her.
Thank you for reading. I Love You All very much.
